Since the lotion by Morton does not give a concentration of the contents, we don't know how much you are getting.
The problem with oral is that if areas that are causing problems don't have open blood circulation, the magnesium in the blood won't get there. Hence the topical bypasses the blockages.
Inflammation typically reduces blood flow to the affected areas.
If you want to use more of the lotion, I'd cut back on the oral supplements for a while. You can't be sure your kidneys will remove excess magnesium well.
Don't put it on the bottoms of the feet....it is wasted there and won't get through the thick skin. Rub in a small amount on the tops of the feet and up thru the ankles, for better effects.
