If you notice an increase in your tinnitus after a cup of coffee, that statement would be true for you. I don't think there is a universal answer to your question. Tinnitus does not like to follow any rules.

Yes, tinnitus is odd.
I have a constant ringing in my ears. Certain frequencies also cause the pain of hyperacusis.
However, the really weird thing that happens is that, listening to certain music triggers a static sound in one of my ears. It always happens at exactly the same moments in the song. Anyone else experience these blasts of static?
