Emortage,

Welcome to NeuroTalk.

I know what you are going through. I've had 14 concussions, only 1 from sports, though.

I don't think you suffered a concussion but rather just relapsed/decompensated. With your history, this is not uncommon. I would suggest you suffer from Multiple Impact Syndrome, as I do.

There is nothing a doctor will be able to do to help you at this stage. You have a few things to consider. First, get on the vitamins and supplements regimen in the Vitamins sticky at the top. It will give your brain the best chance. It should also help you stabilize your mood. Read the whole first post. It has good information and links.

You likely have a subtle upper neck injury that can cause a myriad of symptoms, many that overlap with concussion symptoms. Any sharp movement or head twisting can trigger symptoms.

A specialized chiropractor like those linked in the Vitamins sticky can be helpful. Some PT's can be helpful but most are too aggressive as are most generic chiropractors.

If you have access to good health coverage, a NeuroPsych Assessment will give you some answers about your cognitive/memory struggles. Understanding these issues can help you to move forward without fighting against your frustrations.

A concussion clinic / specialist may be able to direct you to a NeuroPsych Assessment. They "may" be able to help you with subtle neck issues. A normal primary care doctor will not be as helpful. Most concussion clinics are formulaic since they are oriented at generating fees until the sign off for return to play.

I suggest you get educated about your condition so you can plan your life. You can learn to moderate the various aspects of your life so you can soften the roller coaster ride that I expect is ahead. I bet you have already been riding that roller coaster.

What other symptoms/struggles are you experiencing ?
