When I got a concussion and went to the hospital, the doctor has performed a neurological examination on me to rule out severe complications that are possible after a concussion. Everything was fine in the examination, so the doctor said I am totally fine and can return to school already the next morning.

I still feel like doctors have nothing to offer to me. I seriously don't know what I would have done without you guys - you have been here for me when I had rough days and when I was unsure about my recovery, and you helped me so much to gain hope. I was seriously depressed for weeks and weeks after my concussion - you guys helped me understand there is hope and I can get better. I feared that I'll never be the same person again, but now I see that I'm slowly gaining myself back. My memory is 95% of its capacity before the concussion and I'm emotionally responsive just as I was before the concussion (had problems with emotional flatlining early in the recovery).

I'm not totally sure I would have recovered that way (and keep recovering) without the help of you people. I feel very lucky to find this forum of amazing, supportive, kind people who really care to hear about your problems, and accept all kinds of struggles you have (in my case, bad OCD). So yeah, seriously, thanks! You guys have give me hope and motivation to continue life and do great things. A year before the concussion I've had suicidal thoughts. Now, despite the hard depression I was in before the concussion, I want to live life more than ever and have great motivation to improve myself.

I want to say special thanks to Mark in Idaho. I really appreciate your tremendous help. You understand much more than probably any neurologist and I appreciate your devotion to this forum and great help to everyone. You have amazing knowledge about TBIs and you have helped me and everyone here learn so much about their injuries in the ways that'll be optimal for them to recover and get better.

You have the knowledge of a brain researcher, it seems! I am sorry to have heard about your struggle with PCS for more than 50 years and the Multiple Concussion Syndrome, but I'm so glad that you chose to help so many people about the same subject.

So, thank all of you guys! You've been here alongside me and alongside everyone else in rough days and this is not to be taken for granted. I'm so glad I've found this community. You helped me change my life!

I'm still recovering from PCS, but I feel much more optimistic and hopeful now than I was a few weeks after the concussion. And to those wondering, some of the major changes I've done in my life is to start exercising 4 times a week. I feel that it is extremely helpful to my recovery process. I also socialize more, read more and generally do more - forcing my brain to create new pathways and therefore also recover. I'm having a good time.

To sum it up, you people are great!

Thanks!

Yes, Mark in Idaho is the best! He has coached me through some very difficult periods this summer. Really caring, realistic, and supportive person. So glad he's on here.
