Yes, I have experienced this.
It is fairly common after TBI. I experience intermittent deafness in one ear. It happens several times a day, but usually only lasts a few minutes. However, on one occasion, it lasted for about five days, and I started to wonder if it was permanent.
If you can google "intermittent conductive deafness" you can read about the connection between hearing issues and TBI. Also google "nerve death and hearing loss."
In addition to the intermittent deafness and tinnitus, I also experience stabbing pains in my ears. They're terrible: like someone is sticking an ice pick into my ears. My ears also tingle.
These symptoms have persisted, in the eight years since my TBI, but the frequency of the deafness and pain has decreased.
My doctor is indifferent to these issues and says nothing can be done. I hope you have better luck with the ENT and would it if you would share any useful info.
