I went thru it all with thyroid starting in 1991, finally got on desiccated thyroid in 2002. Lots of misery from this dsyfunction. I've learned a lot and had read along the way there are some 66 symptoms of sluggish thyroid, but this list is truly pathetically long. I've followed The Stop The Thyroid Madness group and own the first book. I could write my own book on my issues and all I've learned over many years of this.
Reading about some talking about DRY skin, hands brought me to want to talk about it more...I know when I've held or shaken a hand and the person hands are so DRY, it's low thyroid. That is just ONE issue. Cold hands for sure.
SO so many are dismissed due to lab numbers, I was for 10 yrs. And then my D.O. after talking to him on the phone about thyroid called in for Armour in 2002, NO LABS, this man knew the thyroid history. He was an old school doctor and knew the long history of symptoms. 10 yrs of depression lifted in 4 days for me after I got on thyroid support.
We are NOT numbers, we are symptoms, Many symptoms for too many.
All those 10 yrs of not getting help, the MD probably wrote 3 anti depressants and then I went to the county for drug help as these drugs were so costly....all my issues were Sluggish Thyroid.
I believe people are dismissed, not taking the right support or dose...etc.
Think about all your own health issues and read this pathetic list.
