I think that telling yourself that your parents did the best they could is an act of forgiveness. That's a part of healing, and it's not an easy thing to do. I'm sorry that your childhood was painful
People heal to different degrees when it comes to childhood trauma, but no one forgets. My goal is to move past it.

We've gotten into Byron Katie a bit on one of your threads already, and it seems not one of us is impressed by The Work. And clearly, you are not either...

She doesn't seem to be the best confidant right now regarding the sources of your anxiety. Are there any things that you have in common with her that you can engage her in long conversations about so that you can avoid these lectures? Can you come up with some different talking points? Sometimes just having good company is enough.

I'm sorry that your good friend is a source of discomfort at the time being. I hope your time with her today goes better.
