I hope that providing new journal articles here won't be discouraged. Not every one of them will be the "magic bullet", but someone might get something out of them, just to even understand the "climate" of PD research.
While this article seemed somewhat vague, the following line was the one that gave me some hope:

I would have to get the entire article (which I don't have access to) to see just how far along and just what exactly they are testing.
