Make sure you wash your lemons well before cutting them.

They have been found to be carriers of many fungi and bacteria.

I wash lemons, limes, cantaloupe and watermelons well with a bit of soap and rinse well before putting into our foods.

We don't use fresh citrus often, though, because it can be sensitizing for those with arthritis. I get my Vit C from Puritan's Pride...the timed release type.
