This subject has always burned my butt, grrr. It's nothing new, I've noticed it for years. It has, however, increased dramatically the past few years.

Around 7 years ago Michael and I were at the infectious disease dr.s for our aids. When we walked in and sat down in the exam room, I couldn't help but notice that the dr. had redecorated. He had a new clock, new lotion dispenser, new notepads and pens, new tissue-box holder, new clipboard, the works. They all advertised the same new med, of course.

I looked at Michael and said "well, I guess one or both of us are going to need that drug before we leave here today", which he snickered at.

Needless to say, I was right on target! We BOTH "needed" it. I let the doc know exactly what I thought of that idea, and left. He later wrote an apology and asked us to come back as patients, he swore he would never try that again. We did go back... but that's cuz he was the only specialist within a 100 miles!
