This morning it was 147. I have been pre-diabetic for while now but I did read it can go up from Gabapentin, has anyone had this experience. I have an endocrinologist that wants me to start taking 500 mg of metformin taken after dinner. The progression of my SFN to most body parts has been rapid (4 mos) so I'm wondering if it's diabetes induced since they have not found a cause elsewhere. To complicate things the endrocrinologist said they found a large nodule on my Thyroid that needs to be biopsied and that I have Hastimoto's disease. I went from no med's before my heart attack in June to someone taking all kinds of meds, ended up with heart disease, painful SFN, diebetes and Thryroid disease. What's next?
Thanks for listening

What was your usual morning Blood Sugar? How much higher has it gone Since gabapentin? Also, Are you taking several readings with thoroughly washed hands? When you get an abnormal reading sometimes it's something as simple as your fingers not being clean or not a good enough blood sample. Usually you can take 1-3 readings to see. Also there is something called "dawn phenomenon" that you could consider as a possible reason.
Hashimoto's and SFN can be linked so i wouldn't panic on the stockpiling of symptoms. You never know, some people have had a lot of things you are experiencing level out once they were put on thyroid medication. Are those levels OK?
