Not sure this is exactly the same, but on days when I am over-stimulated or have too much activity I frequently will have sleep disturbance issues for the next 2 or 3 days. I've assuming there's a physiological reason for this as it's like clockwork! However, I'm not sure if that's the case.
Like Mark, whenever I happen to do or be subjected to too much, I'll also do mundane things that quiet my mind... this always helps with calming.
