Default I know another woman that happened to.

She had lumbar fusion and had been told it was a possibility that it may lead to further breakdown because it transfers stress to the next level in the spine. Something about changing the biomechanics of the back. I feel like that happens to people with joint replacements also. I see them either needing the other side done or another joint.

Thank you for your response. Your support is a appreciated. After I posted I started to feel like I should delete as my conclusion may have been a bit silly. I want so badly to find the cause that sometimes I feel I am going crazy. You know, "The lunatic is in my head" sorta thing. ("Brain Damage" by Pink Floyd)

I hope your wife is doing ok.

All of a sudden(before the neuro appt) her pain went away!!! She was still tender in the lumbat but she could walk just fine. We went to the neuro and tole the tale and he x-rayed and said that she was in bad shape and if physical therapy didn't fix it, he would have to fuse higher in the spine. The similarities to Neuropathy flares didn't escape me. Now it's been two weeks since neuro visit and she hasn't said a word about her back. Both unable to think of cause or cure.
