Hey BB...good article. Shameful isn't it? I'm a caregiver for a family member with Parkinson's. We tried Azilect (made by Teva) for a period of time. Even with our insurance, it was still about $500/mo. for 30 1mg pills. Ultimately the ADAGIO Phase III trial did not prove long term effectiveness and our neurologist recommended stopping it. Azilect is extremely overpriced especially considering it's not even proven to slow the progression of PD. Yet many neurologists still prescribe it and many PD patients still take it in the hope it may do something for them. Meanwhile, Teva will keep riding this gravy train until their patent expires in 2017.
