Ellie, I am not an expert on interpreting MRI data but (day job stuff) have a fair understanding of the NMR theory involved.
T2 (spin-spin) scans can often give helpful information. T1 (spin-lattice) scans can often provide complementary information.
Discussing the option of a T1 scan with your care team is worth considering.
