Even if your husband has power of attorney, he can still rely on the doctors' opinions.
In my case there are decisions about very specific situations (based on personal beliefs and experience in acute care settings) that I am adamant about and my husband and sister are aware of and will respect, but doctors would not automatically decide the way I would want them to. So my paperwork is in order in case I'm physically or mentally incapacitated.
