I woke up about two wks ago and it hurt in my front outside hip, right where it connects to the body and radiated down the front of my leg. I went shopping and had to rest several times because of the pain. The pain in the hip has gone away for the most part but will return now and then, but the pain in lower leg is still here, and it can hurt like hell. I have iced it, put heat on it, Ben Gay on it, even bought a massager one of those electrical pad things, nothing works, I am a 63 yr old male so walking for exercise is a main part of my life, i was walking about 5 miles every other day or more, now i can' t. I do take high blood pressure meds and cloresterol meds, and am a pre diabetic, not over weight. When i rest it can be fine but when i walk it flairs up and hurts. There is no swelling no cold or warm to the touch, just the pain raw meat feeling, and it seems to hurt in my butt if i try to walk
through the pain, whar can this be. Help Please.

I had a compressive incident(walk-away car wreck) and my right knee and hip took a jolt and this must have been enough to trigger trauma-induced Neuropathy. About 4 days after the MVA, I got a burning pathway from the right hip to the knee. So, try to remember if you stepped in a hole or twisted something that may have triggered this. I also had lumbar and butt pain associated with this. Good Luck, Ken in Texas.
