I got mine for muscle, RSI,CMP pain, but dh & son use it also..for general aches & pains.

The Thermotex products have rectangle flat sections, somewhat padded but not nearly as soft/flexible as the smaller circular disk pads in the UTK Heating Pad with Natural Jade Stones.

If you can request or find a practitioner that has a low level laser - some chiros have them - more so than PTs or MDs..
It might be worth trying a few sessions of LLLT for pain relief.
I can say it worked very well & quickly for my various pain areas.
I can't say if it will help for the RSD part though.

If your RSD isn't in the shoulder area, maybe try some of the KT tape/kinesio taping?

There are pretty good videos on how to apply it, but having a pro do it a few times first is the best. It lasts about 4 days,

I recently had a shoulder strain or small tear and my chiro did some Gua Sha and then taped my shoulder. I also used the infrared heating pad a lot along with it.

I went ahead and ordered the infared heating pad from Amazon...went with the 69.99 one that is a little smaller but it should be find for me as I am fairly small...we'll see how that goes.

I do have RSD in my entire upper body and neck, including back, both arms, torso, and hands...it's just that THIS pain isn't RSD but something else from my fall. Last year when I did PT when I strained my other shoulder (when I was 8 months pregnant) they used laser therapy combined with ultrasound therapy and heat. That was my first 2 weeks of sessions before they did anything more aggressive...don't know why the PT this year started immediately with aggressive stuff which just made the pain worse but no sense worrying about that. The laser therapy did seem to help. We tried the tape and while it made my shoulder feel better...all that was off set when we took the tape OFF and my RSD flared up bad. This shoulder pain is slightly different than last year (in the opposite shoulder too) in that I have the same pain...but also have a different pain too that is more sharp located towards the top of the shoulder as opposed to just the tearing/pulling pain towards the back area of the shoulder.

Pain is still really bad today from the shot. Keeping my fingers crossed that after a few days I will start to feel some relief. Looking forward to getting the infared pad from amazon in a couple days (love Prime shipping).
