Pinky, I had read or heard years ago that soy for the japanese is a condiment...others will say no, it's a main dish...I don't know. I know miso is soy based or soy floating in the broth. If they do consume high soy it's not GMO...I know they are big on the soybeans. But they do consume high iodine vs the U.S. They are huge fish people and sea kelps and now there is so much damage from the Fukashima radiation mess which I read more and more that all that radiation is in our oceans, Pacific for sure.

When I buy fresh fish, it's from alaskan waters and mostly salmon and ling cod when I'm in the mood for cod. But I can't imagine not dosing from iodine, I started low and still don't take a lot...the normal dose I've read here is 10-12mg daily. I take close to 8mg daily. Just the breast health is so major.
