Hello George and Bookworm, welcome to NT! I'm sure you'll both love it here. The people are fantastic, and will give you the kind of moral support than can only come from someone who knows what you are going through. There is also a wealth of data for you to use, to help you know and control your disease.

I had a tens unit about 10 years ago and loved it. But recently I was given a "micro-tens", and it caused some problems. The voltage was too low, so what I got out of it was a gentle feather-brushing-on-your-skin kind of feeling, which drove my rsd/crps absolutely bonkers.

So I think tens units can be a good thing... as long as you get one that is tailored to meet the requirements of your particular disease. I would have really liked to get one, but there's no way I am going to PT three times a week, which is what my ins. requires. ACK.
