Default While there are some other conditions--

--that might elevate the IgA transglutaminase, that measure is generally the one that is most closely associated with the damage to intestinal villi in celiac.

The gold standard, of course, is an intestinal biopsy through endoscopy to look for said villious damage--and you'd have to make sure that sufficient places were sampled, as celiac damage can be patchy--although many gastroenterologists would take your transglutaminase result as sufficient celiac evidence.

In any case, a gluten-free diet wouldn't hurt.
