the research into consequences of the MTHFR mutations and various mental conditions is advancing quickly today.

This set of mutations affects how the body can methylate (attach methyl groups) to substrates to create the neurotransmitters and other tissue enzymes that take care of our brain and body in general.

This DNA test is easy and fairly affordable now. What lacks is finding a doctor who understands this.

Another helpful site to read is MTHFR.net

If a person has this mutation, they need methyl forms (active versions) of folate and B12 for life.

I believe that some here on TBI forum may benefit from learning about this and getting the DNA testing.

We are seeing members on NeuroTalk's other forums having positive results with this testing.
