Default Thymus regrowth

Hi, I'm new to this site and could not for the life of me figure out how to start a new post. I did find this post, and even though it is old, it applied to my concern.

I was diagnosed with MG in 1992 and had a trans-sternal thymectomy that same year. There was no thymoma. I have had several short live remissions over the years, as well as a few hospitalizations for exacerbations. Over all I have done pretty well on Mestinon, which I am currently on. Over the last few months I have had to increase my dosage by more than double and still struggle with symptoms.

I have had significant shortness of breath and a feeling of pressure in my sternum.

My neurologist is having me get a CT with contrast to see if the thymus gland has re-grown.

My question is: Is there an increased chance of a thymoma (either cancerous or benign) in a re-grown thymus? There is a crazy amount of cancer in my family history.

I have searched the internet for an answer and can't seem to find one. Does anyone have any information on this? Thank you in advance for any information you could direct me toward.
