Walkers and canes all have that problem--they're something you have to deal with with your arms and hands.

Many people I see with walkers are leaning forward into their walkers so as to hang onto them. I have to keep correcting my posture with my walker to make sure I'm not bending forward. This can't be good if you're trying to maintain an upright posture.

Maybe it's a matter of trying first one thing and then another, and maybe giving up and going back to square one after all.
