I started experiencing GERD and abdominal pain after I developed CRPS. As my pain decreased, the GERD improved, but now that the pain has worsened, the GERD has worsened as well. The pain itself seems to make me nauseous and that worsens the GERD.

I'm on Nexium, but the problem with it (and other PPIs like Pilosec) is that they lead to kidney damage, so they are not recommended for long-term use, though some doctors claim long-term is 20+ years.

I have been following the low-FODMAP diet for awhile now and it helped significantly with the abdominal pain. The GERD also improved on this diet, but I'm not sure if it was because I was in less pain or because of the diet. But if you are still struggling, it may be something to look into.

Hope you find relief!
