I'm actually one of the wierd ones that hate cell phones! I think they are an intrusion on a persons privacy. Sometimes the time I have in the mall or in the car is the only time I have to myself and I don't need someone calling me just to talk. They can leave a message on my answering machine. If it was something I needed to pick up for them, well they just should of called me before I left. It will teach them to be better organized.
I remember the good ol' days growing up in a household of 7, one bathroom, one phone and one TV. You all had to work together. Schedules had to be written down, lists made and I loved my own private moments. To this day, my sister and I have strict rules that no one, I mean no one gets in our purses. That was the only thing we didn't share or have that was a hand me down.
I do have one of those TracPhones that I carry with me when I drive out of town. I do recognize that emergencies do happen. I remember one time driving home from Lexington seeing the grand kids. Lexington was having terrible storms. My other daughter was leaving Indianapolis and there was a tornado. We all talked to each other the whole trip home. Also we both have elderly mothers in not so great health and I do see a need for a cell phone for that. But my girls know that my cell phone is not turned on unless I need it.
