I can't read fiction at all. This linked blog/article is written in such a way that I can not read it. I need good sentence structure and paragraph structure or my mind gets lost. But, I can do fine with well written informational articles but sometimes I have to skim looking for key words to find the valuable information. I learned this skill from reading medical journal articles and other PubMed articles.

I used to get quite a few magazines about science, mechanics, but had to not renew subscriptions as writing/editing styles became too feminized. I do well with just the facts without the overly descriptive style that became common as they started pursuing women readers. Yeah, Guys are boring and read the boring stuff. Even Readers' Digest fiction became a struggle.

For me, 16 years has not changed my reading skills. So much for that part of neuroplasticity.

I hope others can hold on to reading fiction and other entertaining styles.

For me, audio books are worse since my audio processing is far worse than my visual processing.
