VEEG report........let the party begin
Came in the mail.
Dictation: The interictal recording showed an alpha rhythm of 9 Hz with continuous polymorphic delta activity over the left temporal head region. Prominent spikes were present over the left mid temporal electrode. The spike activity waxed & waned in frequency & @ times were quasi periodic 1 Hz spike activity over the left temporal head region. In addition, there were frequent electrographic seizures that sometimes went on for 10-60 minutes.
Throughout the recording there were push button events. (there were 20 in 3 days) During all these episodes the patient was fully awake & alert w/o any alter mentation, however, she was clearly reaching over to right arm & describing sensory phenomenom.
Summory of Findings:
1: spikes, frequent, left temporal.
2: Intermittent polymorphic delta, left temporal.
3: Epilepsy partialis continual.
Clinical Interpretation: This is clearly an abnormal VEEG study w/ continuous polymorphic delta & spikes over the left temporal head region. In addition, there was electrographic seizure activity consistent w/ epilepsy partialis continual w/ activity over the left temporal head region w/ some spread to the parasagittal. Theer was no altered mentation, but the patient did have sensory phenomenon. Further clinical correlation is advised.
So it took a year & some major bitching to get this done. Basically, it didn't tell me anything that I didn't know.
