I've been in Georgia in summer, and the heat is beastly there!

Not much heat here just now (in Oregon) but there was a hot spell with temps around 100' for a couple of days. It can get like that here at times.

After many years of trying to avoid the heat, nowadays I mostly stay home and do nothing and hide from it when it hits. Luckily I have good fans and even air conditioning. All set as long as I don't go anywhere or try to do much.
