I am going to have to step in here with information about the use of Lexapro with Trileptal:

Here is an explanation of this combination. Both drugs affect the liver metabolism of each other:

Drug Interaction Report - Drugs.com
Quote:
Interactions between your selected drugs
Moderate
oxcarbazepine escitalopram

Applies to: Trileptal (oxcarbazepine), Lexapro (escitalopram)

Talk to your doctor before using escitalopram together with OXcarbazepine. Combining these medications may increase the blood levels and effects of escitalopram. You may have an increased risk of developing side effects, including irregular heart rhythm and a rare but serious condition called the serotonin syndrome, which may include symptoms such as confusion, hallucination, seizure, extreme changes in blood pressure, increased heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, shivering or shaking, blurred vision, muscle spasm or stiffness, tremor, incoordination, stomach cramp, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. You should contact your doctor immediately if you experience these symptoms while taking the medications. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
This interaction should have been brought to your attention at your pharmacy.

Also using SSRIs in teens is not recommended as it seems to raise the risk of suicide. Lexapro has a warning black box about this risk:
Quote:
WARNINGS

SUICIDALITY AND ANTIDEPRESSANT DRUGS

Antidepressants increased the risk compared to placebo of suicidal thinking and behavior (suicidality) in children, adolescents, and young adults in short-term studies of major depressive disorder (MDD) and other psychiatric disorders. Anyone considering the use of Lexapro or any other antidepressant in a child, adolescent, or young adult must balance this risk with the clinical need. Short-term studies did not show an increase in the risk of suicidality with antidepressants compared to placebo in adults beyond age 24; there was a reduction in risk with antidepressants compared to placebo in adults aged 65 and older. Depression and certain other psychiatric disorders are themselves associated with increases in the risk of suicide. Patients of all ages who are started on antidepressant therapy should be monitored appropriately and observed closely for clinical worsening, suicidality, or unusual changes in behavior. Families and caregivers should be advised of the need for close observation and communication with the prescriber. Lexapro is not approved for use in pediatric patients less than 12 years of age. [See WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS: Clinical Worsening and Suicide Risk, PATIENT INFORMATION, and Use in Specific Populations: Pediatric Use].
I think you should discuss a possible change in medications.
There are antiseizure drugs that do not have the same risks as Trileptal.

Rxlist.com and drugs.com are good resources to study before you start any treatment.

Patients can not really rely on doctors 100% to know all the drug interactions. Many really do not understand the metabolic interactions of drugs and the liver enzymes that metabolize them. They rely on pharmacists to warn. And if that does not happen because of lack of time or attention, then the patient may suffer a consequence.

Please be careful and study up with the links I have given.
