Well Hiya there Birdy07

First off to Neurotalk! I am glad that you found us.

Its funny that Yorkiemom (another great member) and I were just talking about some of the same issues.

I have Hashimotos and am having neuro problems and nerve issues. I also have a goiter. I have developed TOS (thocici outlet syndrome which is a nerve compression problems in my neck which relates to my arms which get heavy when I try to do things. I am absolutely coming to the conclusion that my thryoid might be causing my TOS since it occupies a good deal of space inthat area of the brachial plexus nerves.

My thryoid meds dont seem to be able to manage my condition and when I take em I burn all over and then after a short while on a low dose I seem to get hyperthryoid.

So I have been doing some investigating and recently (this weekend) came across something called thyrotoxic myopathy. Funny thing it says that thyrotoxic myopathy creates weakness in the shoulder and pelvic/hip muscles. It can also affect myelination of the nerves.

Going to ask my doc about it. And am considering having my goiterous thyroid taken out.

Anyway you peaked my interest with your post

Stay and search around. Some great folks here on the forum. We are good listeners!

I hope you are able to find some answers
