speaking of "PhilOsophy"

I wonder about Opossums...I asked the wife awhile back,why isn't the "O" pronounced in the "Opossums" and why IS there an "O" in "Opossums"

we couldn't figure out why the "O" wasn't pronounced in the "Opossums" but I think I figured out WHY there is an "O" in it.

The other day, we drove by one on that road that was about to cross the street...and I SWEAR ON MY GRANDMOTHER'S GRAVE ON THIS...

it opened its mouth and it went..."OOOOOHHHHHH!!!!"

good thing I swerved and missed it...I hit a deer instead...

now we figured out where the "O" in opossum came from, we now WONDER how do we submit to the Encyclopedia Brittanica on how to add "O" to "DEER"

as my wife screamed, "Oh Dear!!" At least I thought that was what she said...what she meant was, "OOOH! DEER!!!!"
