These findings put to rest the notion that rasagiline, and likely other MAO-B inhibitors, will play a meaningful role in the treatment of cognitive dysfunction in PD. Although a previous study (Mov Disord 2011; 26:1851) suggested attention and executive dysfunction may be improved by rasagiline, based on the current results I would not recommend use of a MAO-B for the cognitive-dysfunction feature of PD.
