Hi, Mw40love. Welcome!

The only connection between MG and shingles would be if you are on immunosuppressants for MG. Anything that suppresses the immune system could coax the chicken pox virus out of hibernation.

One other thing that can affect shingles, for the good, is having enough vitamin B12 in the system. B12 helps to heal peripheral nerves, which the shingles virus attacks.

So if a person has had shingles over and over, they should check a few things out. Are they immunosuppressed? Do they have a B12 deficiency? Do they have an immunoglobulins deficiency (i.e., IgG). Are there ways they can augment their immune system (more sleep, better diet, etc.)?

Does that answer any questions you may have?

I had shingles once. I was able to recover, but both the virus and the treatment exhausted me. Luckily, the pain was hardly noticeable, which I contribute to the daily B12 I take.
