I think you can take the Advil. Here in the US there are lidocaine creams now that take the pain out.

This is one example:
Aspercreme Pain Relieving Cremes and Gels: Pain Relieving Creme with Lidocaine

I don't know if you have that where you are.
Here in US doctors will sometimes give Lidoderm patches for shingles. Best not to put on open sores though. The lidocaine products do not have other drugs in with them either.
