I got the Jitterbug smartphone with the 5* app but unless I have the phone with me it does me no good.
I've thought about the Life Alert thing because it's on a chain around your neck.
The 5* app is great because you can use it for any situation....not necessarily emergencies.....say you're out somewhere and you need directions or you just feel anxious and want someone to reassure you.....you can just touch the app and someone is right with you. And they have a GPS to your location so if you need help they can get it right to you even if you aren't familiar with your location.
I think after this last episode I might be looking into the Life Alert option.
