Had a minor conpression neuropathy: is using smokeless tobacco ok during healing?
Hello.
So I had a very minor compression neuropathy in a fingertip of my right hand.
During the first month of healing, I was completely substance free, no alcohol, no kind of tobacco products.
During the second month, in relation to school stress, I had given into using e cigarettes for 1.5 weeks and then switched to smokeless tobacco for 1.5 weeks.
(Have not smoked ciggs for 6 years)
I have since completely quit nicotine products.
My question: could the combined nicotine from
Both or the harmful chemicals in smokeless tobacco have delayed nerve healing? Does anyone know of any studies that look at smokeless tobacco/nicotine specifically (not smoking) effects on nerve regeneration?
Thanks much in advance!
