The clinical trials using progesterone immediately after head trauma was stopped because of the many cases where it cause worse outcomes. progesterone sounded promising but it is not.
But, hormonal imbalance can cause a magnification of symptoms so a full hormone panel by a neuro-endocrinologist can be worthwhile.
