Bem-vindo Ruival,

You are doing very well with your English.

I am sorry that your wife and family have had to go through so much pain and stress. You will find a lot of understanding here and many kind people.

Recovery from nerve surgery of any kind can take months and the swelling from the operation can cause its own problems. I had a nerve repair and neurolysis in my ankle and recovery has been slow, but over time I have regained function and strength and am able to walk and exercise. Hold on to hope and know that there may be good days and bad days for a while. Your wife's doctor should be able to tell you when you can expect to see change. I was told up to a year for everything to settle out. If she isn't getting physical therapy to help regain function, that would be something to pursue.

You'll find a forum for TOS here. http://www.neurotalk.org/forum24/
There is also a Search feature at the top of the main forum page to help you look for specific topics.

Sending thoughts of healing and recovery,
