night
I tried all sorts of anti-depressants after getting RSD for pain relief and for sleep. They just don't agree with my system.
I've tried quite a few things, but the Neuro changed my baclofen from one 10mg tab every 12 hours to one at 1 pm and 3 at 12 a.m. Works GREAT. Helps so much with the spasms. It didn't work well when I first started for sleep... but he said stick with it, gradually increasing dose. He said he has some patients on as much as 60 mg a day, so 40 a day for me is safe. I work 2nd shift, so I take one with my "dinner" before I go to work, and take 2-3 at night when I go to bed. If it's not a bad night, I will take 2 to start and if I am not asleep in 1-2 hours take a third.
It's been the best thing so far for me. Has really helped the spasms-- I had a terrible time with muscle spasms even before I had RSD so this has been a great med for me.
Before I went to this routine, I would average 2-1/2 to 3 hours sleep a day. Now I sleep pretty much every night 6 or 7 hours. I think getting the extra sleep has been one reason I feel better. That and the new med (for me) Namenda. It has really helped my pain. Been able to stop the high dose of topamax since starting the namenda. Don't use my RSD cream, lidoderm patches, Ultram or Vicoden nearly as often either. YEAH! And, it helps with the "fogginess" I have had with the RSD.
Hope that helps!
