When you say it took a few seconds to gather what happened, do you mean you were confused or just not paying attention and were startled and realized, "Ouch, I just bumped my head."
A minute of struggling to be aware of what happened is usually concussion related confusion. But, being startled by the impact and needing to stop to realize what you just did is not necessarily a concussion. A sub-concussive impact likely but it takes hundreds of those to be a problem.
No strange tastes, vision disturbances, etc ?
