I thought of the protein thing too. I didn't know these things can pop up like that. My hubby became allergic to shellfish to years ago. The cause for him was iodine. He had a bad case of kidney stones and they did a test with iodine. Then he ate shrimp a few weeks later and boom he breaks out everywhere. Had to tell him it was because of that test. He was not happy as he loves seafood! Luckily though he can eat a few pieces now without any reaction. He's much happier. Lol
