Ok, folks, Here's the deal. Yes, like many of us, I was led to believe
by an incompetent neuro that DBS was nearly always a last-ditch approach.
My wife's neuro (Kaplan of Overland Park, KS) was finally able to
convince me to consider DBS.

Here is my 'summary' based on personal experience less than 3 months ago:

Assumptions - (critical)

* 24/7 access to a loving, committed caregiver
* Good to excellent insurance (GEHA in my case)
* Excellent physicians (St. Luke's Kansas City)
that have extensive experience with the 'asleep'
version of DBS
* Strong faith-spirituality and a pastor that
believes in you and vice versa.

There are many aspects of this procedure that I don't
pretend to understand. If there is any issue that any
of you would like me to elaborate on, by all means,
let me know.

There are 2 points that hopefully give you an idea
of how much my life has changed since 10/13/16.

* Daily Rytary dosage was 14 capsules daily, now 3
* Wife and I are leaving for Key West tomorrow

A special thanks to Dr. Vonsickle and his staff (of
Colorado) for convincing me that this would truly
give my life back. An incredible physician (and
engineer), even though my wife and I eventually
decided to choose a facility that didn't present
travel challenges from Kansas City.
