Well really you can tell by how your clothes are fitting- but I do have a scales in my bathroom. I just get on it once in awhile to double check - i usually know if it will be up or down before I get on it

I guess it depends on if you would get depressed or motivated by seeing the actual weight- it helps to reinforce & motivate me most of the time.
But I haven't lost anything so
.
I really need to up my activity level I'm sure.
