There's a lady in our neighborhood. She must be in her late 70's or perhaps even in her 80's. She walks a long route around town every day no matter the weather unless it is absolutely intolerable. (We have hard winters where I live.) She had knee surgery a year or so ago. She was laid up for a short while I guess. But pretty soon she was right back out there walking! She has a cane. She carries it by hooking the handle around her neck so she has it with her in case she needs it. But I never see her actually use it. I sometimes wonder why she doesn't get a treadmill or something. But I presume she just prefers to walk outdoors. She's amazing!
