I was immunised against tetanus in NZ as a child/teenager and it is also routine here. The active ingredient in the vaccine (tetanus toxoid) is very immunogenic which means that it causes long-lasting immunity against
Clostridium tetani infection which can lead to sometimes fatal tetanus.
I can't find any evidence that this vaccination can lead to neuropathy - it might happen but, if so, it is very rare. A PubMed search (tetanus + neuropathy + vaccination) retrieved 13 papers, none of which are relevant.
