Someone asked what the sigfnicifcance with Vitamin D3 and depression is and I can't acurately answer this. However, I can tell you that I, for some reason, need to take kind of a lot of it for it to work.

I take 5000 iu in the morning and 2500 iu at night every night. Plus there is some in my multi vitamin.

If I'm experiencing any depression at all (even mild), I take 5000 in the morning AND at night for awhile and then switch back to the 2500 at night.

The B's also help me a lot.

I was tested and my D level was high normal...can't recall the exact number.

I'll see if I can get our relative to take a vitamin D test. But, I don't know if her doctors or if she will be cooperative.

I was thinking of just getting her a lowish dose , maybe 1000 iu and seeing if she would be willing to take this daily to see what happens.

To be honest, some of doctors don't see the importance of taking so much vitamin D. I would rather not be depressed...so high normal is absolutely fine with me.
