I can see with the information I first gave you how you might lean that way. If you like to read, I took your advice and put to my best recollection my full history on the Mens forum, with of course no responses. You can read it below if you don't mind...and yes I have been to a Urologist for Prostatis close to the same time frame that this may have begun, I can't be certain on dates. It's possible there is a link, although my prostate seems fine as of today. Anyways, without rambling here you go:

I am a 32 yr old circumsized male who has had a condition that has been around so long that I honestly can't remember what it felt like to be normal. When this condition actual started around 6/99, I noticed that my penis was a little discolored on the head (reddish) and only slightly (reddish) on the foreskin area. The skin started to feel somewhat like a sunburn is the best way to describe it. The foreskin area to the end of the penis felt raw and prickly and my symptoms were only surface level. I do not have any sexual dysfunction or pain when urinating. However, a couple years earlier I was diagnosed and treated for Prostatiitis. I recovered and everything has been fine regarding the mechanics of how everything should work. Everything else appears to be normal. I started out going to my family MD several times over the issue and was then referred to a 3 different Dermatologists, eventually a Urologist and finally a Chiropractor in hopes of diagnosing or finding a treatment method that would offer some hope of relief. After numerous topical creams / ointments varying in strength and 8-10 cortisone shots, I have had not one ounce of relief due to medicine or treatment. No one seems to know what it is or how to fix it. To me this issue seems fairly straightforward, however, it appears that that is not the case. I have also changed soaps, laundry detergent, tighter underwear, etc. and nothing seems to produce any results. My family MD last referred me to a Chiropractor in an effort to see if it could stem from my spine (maybe nerve related).**I have had x-rays and have mild scoliosis in the Lumbar region and the C4 -C5 vertabrae (neck area) has a slight herniation, bone spurs closing and a nerve canal appears to be narrowing in that same area. It hurts quite often, but I feel its unrelated (just some history).**After several years of trying anything I could, the problem with hypersensitivity around the foreskin and head somewhat diminished, but not totally.**Only enough that I could go about day to day activities and not notice a problem with my penis rubbing my underwear. I still have been unable to dry off with a towel when i get out of the shower without patting the area dry.**Also, I haven't been able to wear swim trunks without wearing underwear underneath (the mesh hurts) since '99.

Fastforward 11 yrs or so later, and the issue seems to be back once again and is very hypersensitive. I have noticed just last week, maybe 9/17/00, that it has started to irritate me once again, just when i thought the worst of it was gone!**There is no discoloration, everything appears normal.**My habits have not changed over the years one bit since that time. The foreskin feels super ticklish / raw and the head raw and prickly, like pins to the touch.**With no clothes on standing still, I can't even tell I have a problem, but when there is movement and contact with clothing my focus is drawn there constantly and it seriously affects my overall activity and sexual life.**I am concerned that it is Nerve related and cannot be healed.**It is hypersensitive, not numbing.**I feel plenty, trust me! I am a very active individual with a 2 yr old and a wife and I feel that I am limited at this point in meeting their needs to the degree I wish. It is amazing how something so small can limit what you're able to do and dramatically affect your day to day activities.

I went to see a Dermatologist that had some history of the issue yesterday and his advice to me was a series of suggestions: Try an MRI and see if we see anything abnormal, go to a Neurologist and see if they can maybe perform a Nerve Conduction Study or do some Imaging of the area, try 10 mg of Amitryptilline (to possible lessen the sensation) or last but not least, wear tighter underwear to hold everything in place! The later of which is the only I have been able to do to get through daily life thus far! Sorry to be so long winded, but here are the details. I think my condition is nerve related and am scared to death that this may be permanent and either have to go away once again on its own or possibly have it the rest of my life. I don't know if the reason it is in this condition is due to sex or other reasons as of late. I have not had sex at this point in over 2 wks. I am afraid to. This is not your normal, "hey, just lay off things for a few days and it will get better" type situation, this is exactly how it felt 11 yrs ago. I am so frustrated, Please help!!!

Hey man, did you ever get your situation resolved? I have the same thing for the past 4 years, and I've tried amitriptyline, MRI, Physical therapy, Lyrica, and nothing has worked. Really appreciate knowing if you ever got better. Thanks!
