I lost the big toe nail and a new nail was underneath it and there was white color at the base of the nail. my other nail hurts but i think i stubbed it. also my foot is scaly and there is a crack and it started hurting. i bought some athlete's foot cream. I looked up diabetes's symptoms after catastrophizing all yesterday that they were going to cut off my toe. the lotion is softening the scales and the crack doesn't hurt as much. I am being very generous. the toenail only hurt on the sides when it came off.i t was a surprise.
