Hi Caroline --

Boy, that's an interesting question.

I have some similar problems and they are all related to an ongoing infection in my jaw, around some old implants (dental implants) that I was supposed to have surgery to remove, along with the infected bit of jaw bone -- only court stuff got in the way, then I had no ride.

So.... have you noticed whether you are losing hair at all? When my infection gets bad I invariably lose hair.

Right now I seem to have things somewhat under control... and that's mainly due to vitamin C in fairly large quantities... about 3,000mg 4 times a day.

But... after the periodontist told me about the problem, he also told me that all the Ibuprofen I'd been taking was weakening my jaw bone, that it along with Fozimax was known to weaken the jaw bone.

So I quit taking ANY Ibuprofen (not so easy) and started taking Serrapeptase which is supposed to relieve swelling.

I started taking a lot more magnesium in the hopes that would build my jaw bone back up... and I started putting Whey amino acids in my coffee twice a day...

and now I've added the probiotics (I don't have a fridge now that I don't have grid electricity, so I can't do yogurt).

There were some very clever adds on telly about how our immune system is mainly in our gastro intestinal system.

I bet it is...

So the probiotics and yogurt are a good idea. IMHO

Oh.... the impovement I've seen since I did all these things is pretty HUGE. I'm beginning to wonder if I can lick this infection without surgery...

did you see that women in history series about King Henry the 8th wives? The first one, to whom he was long married and apparently happily married, got an infection after or during giving birth to one of their children.

I was amazed that she recovered from it. I mean, amazed. I think the program said she was in her darkened room for a long time. I'm sure people came to visit her, and I'm sure her diet was the best available.

But imagine, she actually recovered from an infection deep in her body...

I find that inspiring.
